I recently was contacted by a young man in Arizona through this website. He introduced himself as Patrick Gunderson (my name) and thought it was interesting that we had the same name, which would be very interesting if I hadn't been stupid enough and careless enough to that that no one would ever have my same name. I left PatrickGunderson.com unregistered even though I knew it was available. I figured theorigin.net would be enough for me because PatrickGunderson.com would always be available, and I'd never have to worry about the competition. Needless to say, that note I got terrified me. after readiing it I went straight to godaddy and grabbed PatrickGunderson.com and set it to forward here. The thing is, as an internet professional who makes his living telling people to buy the domain that is their name, I let this slide for years. I feel so stupid and I would have been supremely embarrassed if I'd lost my domain. PatrickGunderson.com is now alive, and more importantly is run by me.
