Jobs from Craigslist
April 29, 2006
There is a huge problem with getting jobs off craigslist, or any other free posting board for that matter. From the very beginning, you can tell that your potential client is going to try to do things on the WAY cheap. I've found that they want to under-pay you for your services, and aren't willing to spend money where it needs to be spent in order to produce a product of the quality they expect.
Now, I really like the people I'm working for right now, but they just won't spend the money to license images and music that can make their presentations shine. It is supremely frustrating to have to go trolling google images or scanning images from catalogs and magazines, after informing them of the copyright issues, when I could instead, go to getty images and get some legitimate images for about the same cost in time spent.
I don't think I'll ever take another job off craigslist. The clients just aren't worth it.
